Food has always been the love language in Chef Lucy’s family. With many relatives in the restaurant industry and years of experience working front of house, Lucy naturally gravitated toward the kitchen. Her hospitality background shaped her calm, capable approach, while her formal culinary training helped transform curiosity into craft. Lucy loves cooking food that feels comforting and intentional, blending bold flavors with thoughtful technique to create meals meant to be shared. When Lucy isn’t working with private clients, she’s honing her craft in the kitchen at La Ferme in Chevy Chase.

You have guests coming for dinner, what are you making?
Miso-glazed salmon served over jasmine rice with snap peas. It’s colorful, balanced, and such a fun meal for everyone to share.

What’s your favorite ingredient to cook with?
Ginger. It adds a zesty freshness to every dish and is incredibly versatile. It’s warming, bright, and bold all at once.  Not to mention so good for you.

What’s your favorite season to cook in, and what are you making?
Fall. It’s the perfect time for gravies and braised meats. There’s nothing better than a the dishes that ease everyone into the cozy months ahead and remind us that the kitchen is the heart of the home.
