Chef Hatibu, who was born in Tanzania, discovered his culinary passion in his mother’s kitchen during his teenage years in the United States. His journey across diverse culinary landscapes, from Dolce Hotels and Resorts to owning and leading Roots by Chef Alfani in Muscat, Oman, spans over a decade. Returning to the States, Hatibu brings an elevated mastery of international cuisine, enriched by his immersive experiences abroad. With a Culinary Arts Degree from L’ecole Culinaire in St. Louis, MO, he seamlessly blends his expertise in global culinary arts with his Tanzanian roots, crafting innovative dishes that reflect his cultural journey. When he isn’t creating beautiful meals for clients, Hatibu can be found enjoying his free time with his wife and kids in the Maryland suburbs.
