Kerrie

Personal Chef

Kerrie’s culinary journey began in the warmth of her family kitchen, where, at the age of eight, she discovered her love for cooking. Born in New York and raised in sunny South Florida, Kerrie’s palate is a delightful fusion of traditions. She effortlessly blends the hearty, classic dishes of her family with the vibrant flavors of Caribbean and Cuban cuisine that have captured her heart. She finds her culinary muse in the iconic Ina Garten, whose modern takes on comfort food have inspired Kerrie to transcend traditional boundaries and craft dishes that are both novel and nostalgically delicious.

With a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental justice, Kerrie holds BA degrees in International Relations and Environmental Studies from American University. She is currently pursuing a J.D. from AU’s Washington College of Law.

Kerrie is excited to share her fun, flavorful, and nourishing culinary creations with you and your family.

You have guests coming for dinner, what are you making?

Greek-style roast chicken with roasted vegetables, side salad, homemade herby focaccia, and I’m making the guests bring any dessert/drink/side that they want!

What’s your favorite ingredient to cook with?

Any seasonal vegetable. They always taste best in-season and I can do a million things to a single vegetable that can make it both stand on its own or perfectly compliment the protein, carb, etc. of the overall dish.

What’s your favorite season to cook in and what dish are you making?

Spring- some sort of bright and herby lamb, sauteed asparagus or other seasonal vegetables, and crispy new potatoes with lemon
